The federal Environmental Protection Agency has awarded a $200,000 grant to the City of Cheyenne for the West Edge Project.

The money is to be used to clean up polluted sites known as brownfields, which are the former locations of industrial and commercial ventures. The cleanups are part of an on-going city program to revitalize the West Edge neighborhood.

The EPA has in recent years awarded two separate $1 million grants for cleanup efforts in the area.
