While these activities definitely include the outdoors, they are not found in Yellowstone National Park.

We're just beyond the halfway point of summer with Fourth of July in the books, but there is still plenty of summer fun to be had. And quite frankly, there are still many days to be filled with activities for the kids. I don't know how my parents did it, but they always managed to make summer extra fun. Much of it had to do with the fact that we went and did just about everything our town and area had to offer.

That being said, a website called PureWow.com has compiled a list of the "Best Summer Activities for kids in Every State." Consider this an easy cheat sheet for things to do in every single state. If you can knock out these three things, it will surely be a summer well spent.

For Wyoming it's all about enjoying the best of the outdoors.

Up first is the 7D Ranch in Cody. With a unique program geared just toward the kiddos, your little ones will learn all about the land and life as a cowboy. Kids can even saddle up on a horse if they're brave enough.

Pure Wow also highlighted the Continental Divide Dogsled Adventures in Dubois. Now this is something you won't find just anywhere. These are the largest dog sled kennels in North America and they offer tours.

Finally, we have Hot Springs State Park in Thermopolis. The hot springs are all-natural and there's always a chance to see bison roaming nearby. Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the scenery.

What do you think? Are these activities worth the road trip?
