Buying in bulk will typically save you big bucks when you go grocery shopping. Obviously, you don't want a 55 gallon drum of Ketchup, but there are some items worth buying.  Going to a shopping club, like the Sam's Club here in Cheyenne, can save you money in the long run. Here are 5 items that you might want to think about buying in bulk.

  1. Paper Towels & Toilet Paper - This goes without saying. The more people in the home, the more you will go through these items. It's a great idea to buy these in bulk.
  2. Bottled Water - You save big bucks when you buy bottled water in bulk. It's not a bad idea to store many packets in your garage or your basement.
  3. Diapers - If you have a toddler or two still in diapers, buy these in bulk to save money. Babycenter.com estimates a years worth of baby diapers cost somewhere around $1,100.00.
  4. Canned Foods - If you're not canning yourself, it's a good idea to buy beans, and other proteins and vegetables in cans. A good idea to store these items, just in case you lose your job or if something should happen to where you'll need them. Many stores have great deals on canned foods on a fairly regular basis.
  5. Dried Beans & Pasta - I like to buy these in bulk to have on hand for a warm or cold meal. They also have a long shelf life and don't take up a lot of shelf space.
