Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to gather with your friends and family and be grateful for the many blessings in our lives. Unless, of course, you're away from family and you don't feel like cooking.

Luckily, there are a few places here in Cheyenne where you can enjoy a great Thanksgiving dinner without all the hassle.

1. Community Events - There are three annual events in Cheyenne where the community comes together to feed their friends and neighbors.

Unity Missionary Baptist Church will be hosting their 34th annual Thanksgiving feast from noon to 4 p.m. at the Cheyenne - Kiwanis Community House in Lions Park. The Salvation Army will provide free meals from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall on 601 East 20th Street. There will also be a dinner for military veterans and their families from 1 p.m to 4 p.m. at the Wyoming Army National Guard Artillery Brigade Drill Hall on 5500 Bishop Blvd.

2. Little America - Priced at $30 for adults and $15 for children, brunch runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thanksgiving favorites will also be served in their Hathaway's Restaurant until 10 p.m.

3. Terry Bison Ranch - Serving a buffet featuring more than just traditional Thanksgiving favorites with four seating times from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The buffet includes complimentary champagne and discounted rides on their famous train tour. The buffet is also priced at $30 for adults and $15 for children.

4. The Little Bear Inn - A less expensive turkey day buffet option is the historic Little Bear Inn, just north of Cheyenne. Although their buffet isn't as large as some others, adults can fill up for $20.95 and children get all they can eat for $11.95.

5. Denny's, Village Inn or Chinese - If all else fails, there's always the Denny's or Village Inn. Or skip the turkey altogether and hit up the dinner buffet at the Twin Dragon Chinese restaurant downtown.
