Have you heard the local band, 6 Grand, play before?

They're the entertainment tonight at the Depot Plaza from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Fridays on the Plaza are free shows in downtown Cheyenne during the Summer brought to you by the Wyoming Tribune Eagle.6 Grand came together in 2009 when six friends in other bands merged. They play a wide variety of music, including covers of bands like The Romantics, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Guitarist Bill Snow, also a science teacher at McCormick, told me a while back when he stopped by our KING FM studios that their name is a reference to the 6-thousand foot plus elevation here in Cheyenne.

Here's part of my interview with Bill Snow from October of 2010.
