A Cheyenne resident has obviously had enough of speeders that are southbound on Central at First, near Pershing. There is a garbage can with a speed limit posted to remind drivers to slow down.

Living on a main thorofare can have it’s drawbacks of noise, pollution and danger to children. So much so it inspired an impromptu reminder.

While kids are back in school, the Cheyenne Police Department has stepped up school zone traffic enforcement. Speeding will get you a $100 - $200 fine. Passing a stopped school bus with its lights flashing could cost you up to $400.

Give these folks a break, they are practicing restraint, slow down.

I still remember a neighborhood sign that said

“Please slow down and drive with care, we have lots of kids but none to spare.”
