How important are horses to our area?

That's the subject of a new exhibit opening at the Wyoming State Museum on May 24.

An opening reception for the exhibit, 'A Horse, Of Course,' is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, in the Multi-Purpose Room of the museum in the Barrett Building at 2301 Central Avenue.

The public is invited and refreshments will be served, including a nacho bar provided by Taco John’s.

The new exhibit utilizes objects from the collections of the Wyoming State Museum and the Wyoming State Archives to explore the importance of horses in the western experience and Wyoming history.

'A Horse, Of Course' is on display through March 30, 2013.

The State Museum's summer hours are Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call 307-777-7022 for more information.
