On Memorial Day, we honor the sacrifice of the brave men and women who gave their lives for our country. Here in Wyoming, 755 soldiers have died in battle since World War I.

129 men were lost in World War I.

421 men were lost in World War II.

62 men were lost in the Korean War.

120 men were lost in Vietnam.

1 man was lost in Desert Storm.

8 men were lost Afghanistan.

14 men were lost in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Each one of those 755 men are heroes. Individually and collectively, they have left an enormous legacy in our state.

They all have a story to tell. They were young men in the prime of their lives who served our country proudly.

Luckily, websites such as vetfriends.com, honorstates.org and many others have preserved their stories for future generations.

As we remember our fallen heroes, I encourage you to the click each link in this story and get to know a few of these courageous men, all of whom called Wyoming home.
