Accused Baby Killer Pleads Not Guilty

A Cheyenne man has pleaded not guilty to killing his girlfriend's 6-month-old baby.

30-year-old Tyler Child was arraigned Monday in Laramie County District Court on a manslaughter charge.

According to court documents, Child was watching his girlfriend's kids on June 30 when he called 911 to report that the baby boy didn't appear to be breathing. An autopsy ruled the boy's cause of death as a homicide.

Child's trial has been scheduled for December 1. He could face up to 20 years if convicted.
