After visiting the Capital City this week on his cross country hitch hiking tour, actor Shia LaBeouf announced this morning that he will be moving to Cheyenne and running for mayor.

"The people here were just so friendly and welcoming that I've decided to move here," LaBeouf told reporters this morning. "I had planned on travelling across America this month, but when I tried the Rio Bowl at Ruby Juice, it just felt like home."

According to LaBeouf, one the residents he met this week encouraged him to run for mayor.

"I was working out at Fitness One and the guy on the treadmill next to me was complaining about the candidates," LaBeouf said. "Little did I know, it was Wyoming Governor Matt Mead."

With Mead's guidance, LaBeouf plans to officially announce his candidacy before tomorrow's filing deadline.

"Matt's so cool," the actor added, "he's going to let me crash at the Governor's mansion until I can find a place and he even offered me a ride on his private plane."

The campaign will be managed by LeBeouf's friends "Ronkko" and "Turner", who have been following him across the country, filming his every move.

LaBeouf will square off against ten other candidates in the mayoral election. The famous film star acted quickly, offering to debate rival Marian Orr "anytime, anywhere".

He also challenged write-in candidate Richard Johnson to a bicycle race. Johnson promptly rejected the challenge and accused LaBeouf of "making a joke out of local politics".
