As a seeming dying form of viewing movies, Drive-In Theaters are slowly fading from the American landscape. In Wyoming, my research shows some still in existence in Cody, Gillette, Lusk, Laramie, Powell, and Sheridan. Gone are the Mile High and Terrace Drive-Ins of Casper and the Motor View and Starlight theaters and many others that once dotted the Wyoming landscape.

Fort Collins, Colorado has The Holiday Twin Drive-In, 2206 South Overland Trail and further South, in Broomfield, Colo., an event of sorts will happen. On Sept. 10, the 88 Drive-In will bring the Cartoon Network’s late-night edgier animation, Adult Swim Drive-In for a night of free fun. Adult Swim Drive-In “Featuring things you’ve never seen,” as part of it’s “Nights of Fun and Freebies.”

“Adult Swim, which has been basic cable's top network with millennials for over a decade, has brought the world such animated grownup greats as Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Venture Brothers, Robot Chicken, Rick and Morty and The Boondocks. It was also one of the first gateways for fascinating anime from Japan — including Cowboy Bebop, Attack on Titan and Ghost in the Shell.  Now it's taking its programming on the road to over ten cities, including Denver.” - Westword

“Adult Swim fans enjoying games, trivia and free popcorn, along with other typical concession snacks (free vouchers for food trucks will be handed out to early birds). But the star of the show will be a giant projected program of pilot sneak peeks and unaired episodes, as well as more special content, all airing on the giant built-in screen of the 88.”

Its Adult Swim Drive-In, Saturday, September 10, at the 88 Drive-In, 8780 Rosemary Street in Commerce City. The free event is for adults 18+ only; you must RSVP at adultswim.com to get a QR code for entry.  Adult Swim has set up an entertaining FAQ page with all the rules.

A new day for old school fun. You may have so much fun you'll forget to make out!
