A 74 year old Missouri woman charged with First Degree Murder in the shooting death of her husband in Wyoming almost 40 years ago pleaded not guilty to first degree murder charges in Laramie County District Court today.

Prosecutors say Alice Uden shot her husband, Ronald Holtz, in the back of the head in 1974 or 1975. Laramie County District Attorney Scott Homar is seeking a penalty of life in prison against Uden. Her husband, Gerald Uden, also from Missouri, recently agreed to plead guilty to three counts of murder in Fremont County District Court in connection with the deaths of his former wife, Virginia Uden and her two children in 1980.

Judge Steven K. Sharpe on Thursday set Alice Uden's bond at $250,000. A Jury Trial is set for February 3, 2014 at 9:00 am. Her attorney, Don Miller, indicated it may be quite some time before he is ready to go to trial, because in his words "I have 40 years worth of digging to do".
