The new "Total Solar Eclipse" Stamps offered for sale starting Tuesday were all gone by noon at all three Cheyenne Post Offices. To say they are a hit an understatement. This is a very special stamp.

I was told by a co-worker not long after 9 a.m. that the U.S. Postal Station Converse Avenue was already out. I said, "Holy Cow, when does the place open?" The response was, "Well, they said some one person bought them all." Well, that is one greedy son of a ... gun.

By 10:15 a.m. I went into the Capitol Avenue Post Office to ask if they were out of eclipse stamps. The nice lady behind the counter said, "No, but we're getting close." I got one sheet of 16, myself, for under $8. Yippieeee.

At 10:35 a.m. I stopped at the Cheyenne Airport Post Office. Their stack looked even slimmer. The guy in charge there gave me his first name, "Just Mike." He said he was limiting people to purchasing only two sheets each ever since since he heard about that one big buyout on Converse Ave.

Airport P.O. had already sent out an order for more. The day those arrive is uncertain. After the airport makes an order, the stamps can usually be delivered quick, or next day. After all they are in the Postal Service, so they can do that. In this case, however, with demand so high, Just Mike couldn't confirm whether or not there will be anymore for right now.

Stay tuned for any updates on this whole big heartbreaking earth-shaking story of the stamps.
