On this January 29 of 2014, here in the dead of winter, we celebrate the anniversary of a release 169 years ago . . . in 1845. Dark author EDGAR ALLEN POE's classic poem "The Raven" was first published. His tales of mystery and imagination sparked modern day detective stories and scared the bejeebers out of readers. The Raven is one of America's best known poems.
