Arts Festival Kicks Off Friday
A variety of artistic and musical genres will be highlighted at the second annual 17th Street Arts Festival, which runs Friday and Saturday at the Dinneen's Plaza in Downtown Cheyenne.
Bill Lindstrom, Executive Director of Arts Cheyenne, says the event kicks off at 4:30 pm Friday with an artists reception. He says that will give festival visitors a first chance to see the art being displayed as well as the opportunity to meet the artists. He says live classical music will be performed at the reception. A Wine Tasting is also scheduled.
Lindstrom says 45 artists from four states will display their work on Saturday, including individual artists tents. Lindstrom says 15 vendors will be displaying high-end crafts and foods for sale, and a variety of musical acts will also be performing for free. Free children's art workshops will also be available.
Jalan Crossland, who won the 2013 Governor's Arts Award, will be the headline act on Saturday night. Saturday's schedule kicks off at 10 am and runs until 9pm. Lindstrom says all events except the Friday night Wine Tasting are free,
