Forester Urges Evacuation Readiness

The Wyoming Department of Corrections has issued a comprehensive statewide release policy in response to an April 10th incident where an inmate was released from the state penitentiary in error. Amy Richards has a report. Wyoming State Forester Bill Crapser says wildland fires are likely to be a continuing hazard over the next few weeks and is urging people who may be in affected areas to be ready to evacuate. Game and Fish Bans Open Fires In Laramie and Lander Regions [AUDIO]

State has 1.4 Million Acres in Crop Production [AUDIO]

Results from the annual June Acreage Survey show Wyoming farmers had 1.4 million acres in crop production in June. Amy Richards has details. Game And Fish Commission To Meet (AUDIO)

An internal review has found that  Wyoming Department of Corrections officials mistakenly released an inmate early even after he told a corrections officer that he still had at least five years left to serve on an aggravated assault sentence. Amy Richards has a report. The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission will meet in Lander next month. Spokesman Al Langston says scheduled topics include license regulations and wold policy. Mead Urges Fire Caution (AUDIO)

Governor Matt Mead is urging people to be very careful about anything that could start a wildfire. Mead notes the there is an extreme risk of fire right now, with several large fires burning in Wyoming and other states. Amy Richards has a report. U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack says he wants to increase the number of acres under conservation programs, no matter what happens to those programs in the final food, farm and jobs bill.
