$1.3 Million of Marijuana Seized by Wyoming Highway Patrol
A traffic stop on Interstate 80 yielded $1.3 million worth of marijuana according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol. Sgt. Stephen Townsend said just over 231 pounds of high grade marijuana was discovered in a semi-truck about 20 miles east of Elk Mountain during the Level 3 Commercial Vehicle Inspection.
Laramie City Council to Award Two New Liquor Licenses
Two more retail liquor licenses are available to the City of Laramie and interested parties have started to make their case. Laramie received the licenses because of its increased population in the 2010 census. The city council could award the licenses to any of the eight parties who expressed interest during Tuesday’s work session.
Laramie City Council Approves Animal Ordinance Overhaul
Putting your dog on a leash and licensing your cat will now be required as revisions to Laramie Municipal Code Title 6, dealing with “Animals”, which were approved in a 7-to-1 vote on third and final reading Tuesday night at the regular meeting of the Laramie City Council. Councilor Joe Vitale voted against the changes to the ordinance, Councilor Klaus Hanson was absent.
Cowboy Basketball Begins With A Night of Madness This Friday [AUDIO]
Larry Shyatt‘s second tenure as the head coach of the University of Wyoming men’s basketball team will launch with A Night of Madness at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, in the Arena-Auditorium.
More than just a kickoff for Cowboy basketball, the night will include the Homecoming Sing, introduction of players by Dick Vitale, special guest appearances by Jeff Van Gundy and Joakim Noah, UW football, vo
