Toward the end of my shift on Wednesday, November 27, the fire alarms at the ANB bank started buzzing and flashing. I thought about trying to stay in the KING studio to finish my last 45 minutes on the air but the alarms were so mind-numbingly loud I plugged my ears and headed down the stairs. There really could be a fire in the building, I reminded myself.

Attention Grass Stains! BeatGrass plays a free show at The Midtown Tavern, also known as Anderson's Other Corner at 1303 East Pershing Boulevard, starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, November 29. The local bluegrass band is made up of Jeff Daugherty on mandolin, Shawn Hess playing the upright bass, Pete Mergard on banjo and Josh Reese on guitar.

City crews have been busy installing the annual lit-up decorations along the Cheyenne Christmas Parade route. There's blue snowflakes, red bells and shining stars. The parade begins at 5:30 p.m. on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 30.

The New York punk band The Casualties return to The Atlas Theatre, 211 West Lincolnway, on Friday, November 22, along with Negative Approach and Millions of Dead Cops. Tickets are $13 in advance at Ernie November and $15 at the door. The Casualties also play The Marquis Theatre in Denver on Saturday, November 23, at 7 p.m.
