Aside from getting dark at 4 in the afternoon and switching all your clocks twice a year, some say Daylight Saving Time saves energy, promotes a healthy lifestyle, and reduces traffic accidents. I don’t buy it. I think it promotes more auto accidents, workplace injuries, heart attacks and cyberloafing.

An article from TechInsider says DST costs us sleep, health issues, productivity and could cost us up to $2 billion — just from the 10 minutes twice a year that it takes for every person in the U.S. to change their clocks. “What you lose in sleep, you gain in mortal danger.”

People have been fighting time change for years, to no avail. Congress keeps adding more time to time. Probably from pressure by the TV networks who would love you in darkness when you get home, to get your eyes on their programming sooner, longer.

Don't fight it, resistance is futile. Just remember to set your clocks back early on Saturday night so you’re not early to church on Sunday or early to work on Monday.
