Who's the best banjo player around now that Earl Scruggs is gone?

The answer might be Bela Fleck.

The original lineup of Bela Fleck & the Flecktones is playing several dates along the Front Range this week, including in Laramie at the A & S Auditorium on Tuesday, April 3.Bela Fleck & the Flecktones have won five Grammy Awards, each in a different category. Their mostly instrumental music is an eclectic mix of bluegrass, jazz and electric blues. They formed in 1988.

The original lineup coming to the area is made up of:

-Bela Fleck on acoustic and electric banjo

-Howard Levy playing harmonica

-Victor Wooten on bass

-Roy 'Futureman' Wooten playing the instrument he invented himself

In addition to the show on Tuesday, April 3, at UW's A & S Auditorium, the band will play in Fort Collins on Wednesday, April 4, at the Lincoln Center and Saturday, April 7, in Boulder at the Boulder Theater.
