Beware the “One-Ring” Phone Scam

You and I are savvy and suspicious, but maybe your parents or someone you know is trusting and open. Tell them about the new scam coming out of the Caribbean that calls you, lets it ring once and then hangs up.

They want you to call to see what or who they missed,  and then they charge you $20 for the call and $9 per minute after that.

The scammers are using auto-dialers to call thousands and thousands of cellphones, mostly from the area codes 473, 876, 809, 284 and 268.

Do not call them back!
