1.2 Million pounds of locomotive named Big Boy 4014, rolls into The Cheyenne Depot today at 1:00 and Chuck Geiger & I are so pumped. He (Big Boy, not Chuck) is 1 of 25 heavy haulers built in Schenectady, New York around 1943 specifically for handling the terrain of Wyoming and Utah, specifically, Wyoming's Sherman Hill, that left other engines straining.

He may be huge, he’s fast as well, capable of reaching 80mph. Today however, Big Boy is not under his own power, but is being pushed by another locomotive, an SD70 Mac A. Now, to make sure my camera is ready to capture this grand feat of fine American engineering and then wait for about 3 to 5 years to see how he comes out on the other side of rehab.
