Let me preface this by saying - I think Cheyenne is a great place to live. The people are friendly, we have a great downtown, there are events every weekend.

But no matter where you live, there will always be a pet peeve or two. Tell us in the comments section or on Facebook what your biggest pet peeve is and do your best to keep them constructive. If we hear a lot of concerns about one or two things in particular, we'll take it to the city.

Here's my top 5 pet peeves about Cheyenne:

  1. Potholes  - Yes, this is an incredibly "first world problem." And I know construction crews work tirelessly trying to fill them. But, there are so many potholes on major roads and new ones seem to develop all the time.
  2. Traffic - I have lived in a variety of places and relocated two years ago from Las Vegas. I couldn't believe that drivers were even more aggressive in Cheyenne than I witnessed in the city. Excessive speeders, red light runners, and text-and-drivers I'm looking in your direction.
  3. Layout - Cheyenne has a very old layout that is a little reminiscent of a New England town. Of course, there is nothing that can be done about the layout now, but everyone I know that's new to Cheyenne has gotten lost somewhere in the city.
  4. Grocery Stores  - The problem isn't with grocery stores themselves, but the lack of them. Every grocery store I've been in is over-crowded. There will be a significant amount of relief when the new Wal-Mart opens.
  5. The Weather  - Okay, I know this is useless to complain about because there is NOTHING we can do. But, if I'm listing the things I complain about most, the weather needs to be in there. Summers are near perfect, it's just too bad they only last about 6 weeks.
