Sometimes an event like a power outage can remind us how much fun we can have without using electricity. Simple games like checkers, a deck of cards or a board game can be enjoyable for the entire family. These can be even more exciting when they have to be played by flashlight or candlelight.
Many families have regular weekly game nights to get parents together with their kids. Even preschoolers can be included with games like Candy Land.
Gundy and I were talking last week about some of our favorite board game memories. Sorry! and Clue are two of the favorites in our house. Of course there's also Kerplunk, Don't Spill the Beans and Operation for those with steady hands.
