Bob Dylan’s Muse Dies

The woman who inspired Bob Dylan to write "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right" died February 24th at the age of 67 after a long battle with lung cancer.

Suze Rotolo was Bob Dylan's girlfriend in the early-sixties and appears on the cover of The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan album.

Rotolo was only 17 when they began dating in 1961, shortly after Dylan arrived in New York City. By early 1962 they were living together in a tiny apartment. Rotolo played a huge role in Dylan's political awakening, she took him to Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) meetings and taught him a lot about the civil rights movement.

Rotolo appears in Martin Scorsese's documentary No Direction Home and wrote about her relationship with Dylan in her 2008 book A Freewheelin' Time: A Memoir of Greenwich Village In The Sixties.
