The beginning of Spring in Cheyenne on Tuesday, March 22nd brought winds of 65 miles per hour and perfect conditions to test Boeing's new 787 Dreamliner airplane.

Outside our downtown studios I watched birds struggling to fly against the gusts while a majestic sky blue and white jet climbed effortlessly into the air again and again.

The commercial airplane made nine touch-and-goes and stopped for fuel as it tested it's capabilities in the high winds and high altitude of the Cheyenne Regional Airport. The long delayed 787 Dreamliner was designed to be super-efficient and can carry nearly 300 passengers more than eight-thousand non-stop miles.

Were you one of the lucky ones to see this graceful aircraft visiting from Seattle? What did you think of it? The Cheyenne Regional Airport's Facebook page has some great photos of it's excursion to the Capitol City.
