BOPU Expects Higher Flows in Crow Creek, Urges Caution

People living in or visiting areas near Crow Creek should anticipate higher than normal flows and should exercise caution near the creek.

Board of Public Utilities spokesman Clint Bassett says recent rain storms have increased flows in Crow Creek and the increased flows are expected to fill Granite and Crystal Reservoirs today or tomrorrow. He says when the reservoirs fill, the flows in Crow Creek will pass over the spillways of these reservoirs and return to the creek. This will produce higher flows in Crow Creek east of Curt Gowdy State Park. Bassett says residents should exercise caution when near Crow Creek and be aware of rising water levels. Do not attempt to wade or drive through swiftly flowing waters or waters of unknown depth.
