The City of Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities (BOPU) invites customers to an open house for the 2013 Water and Wastewater Master Plans on Thursday, November 7th from 5-7 p.m. at the Kiwanis Community House in Lions Park.

Spokesman Clint Bassett says approximately every ten years, the BOPU prepares a master plan. The purpose of this plan is to evaluate anticipated issues, concerns and needs facing Cheyenne’s water and sewer systems during the next 10, 20 and 50 years. The BOPU uses the master plan to identify and prioritize projects and goals that are needed to provide water and sewer services in the future. The plan also helps Cheyenne’s water and sewer department financially plan for these projects.

During the open house, representatives from HDR Engineering will make a short presentation summarizing the master plan and will be available to discuss recommendations arising from the plan.
