Seasoned performer that he is, Bruce Springsteen knows that there is no better way of ingratiating yourself to an audience than by playing a song by one of their local heroes. Earlier today (Feb. 8), Springsteen opened up his concert in Perth, Australia with a cover of AC/DC‘s ‘Highway to Hell.’
On his 2013 tour of Australia, Springsteen performed the Saints’ ‘Just Like Fire Would,’ a studio version of which wound up on his new album, ‘High Hopes.’ But this time, Springsteen chose to honor Bon Scott, who grew up near Perth in Fremantle, Western Australia, with the title cut to the last album Scott recorded before his 1980 death.
Thanks Perth for 3 amazing nights! Opened show tonite in Bon Scott's hometown with muthaflippin' "HIGHWAY TO HELL". The AC/DC Street Band?!

This was the last of Springsteen’s three nights in Perth. He will continue to tour Australia through the end of February before moving on to two shows in Auckland, New Zealand at the beginning of March.
