Wyoming snow fences are built along highways to control blowing snow movement and keep drifts from forming on interstate highways, roadways, driveways, and rail lines. They also keep plowing costs down. But Wyoming snow fences only last so long. Every so many years that wood needs to be replaced.

So what happens to them?

One company is using it to build new homes. Why not? It looks good and is weathered hard. It's a great idea.

The company is called Reclaimed Wood From Wyoming

Back when they first started building snow fences the told ones were burned or the wood was thrown into land fills. But then someone thought, you know, that weathered wood actually has a nice look to it.

This wood has now been used inside homes, restaurants and retail stores giving their walls a look that cannot be recreated in a factory.
