The bull rider who was seriously injured after being stomped on by a bull during the College National Finals Rodeo has taken some big steps...out of the Intensive Care Unit, walking to his new hospital room.

Bradie Gray was critically injured at the CNFR June 15th performance, after being thrown from the bull which then stomped on Gray's chest. Even though he was wearing a protective vest, Gray arrived at the Wyoming Medical Center without a pulse, having suffered collapsed lungs, broken ribs, a damaged aorta, and internal bleeding. He was placed in a medically induced coma for a time and underwent a number of surgeries, but has been making a slow recovery.

Gray, is an Australian native who rides for the Odessa College Rodeo Team. His parents, Mick and Sharon Gray of New South Wales, Australia, are with him in Casper. According to the Wyoming Medical Center Facebook page, Mick and Sharon said Bradie walked all the way from ICU to his new room Wednesday morning, and has  this message for his well-wishers:

“Thank you for all the support. It’s really great to find out everyone who backed me. I just couldn’t have done it without you.”

A gofundme page, The Bradie Gray Recovery Fund, has been set up by his college rodeo team to help with Gray's medical expenses and help pay for his parent's stay in Casper during his recovery. It's raised more than $26,000 so far.
