California Man Busted for Speeding with Weed Near Cheyenne

A 50-year-old Daly City, California man could face up to 15 years in prison after a Cheyenne-area trooper found roughly 42 pounds of marijuana in his rental car.

According to and affidavit, Kuo Hsiung Chen Chuang was pulled over around 10:10 p.m. Monday after he was clocked doing 89 mph in a 75 mph zone on Interstate 80.

The traffic stop led to a search of the car and two suitcases containing 37 vacuum sealed bags of marijuana were found in the trunk.

Chuang was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana and felony possession of marijuana.

Chuang is currently being held in the Laramie County jail on a $5,000 cash bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 6 at 10 a.m.
