Casper College Memorial for Slain Instructors [VIDEO, PHOTOS]

A memorial service at Casper College late Tuesday honored the victims of a grisly murder-suicide that happened on campus last week. Hundreds of people filled the college’s Thunderbird Gym to attend the memorial, and a candlelight vigil that followed. Casper College President Walter Nolte officiated, and said the deaths of instructors James Krumm and Heidi Arnold weighed heavy on students, faculty and staff.

The Casper College family cherishes and celebrates each of its members. We grieve today because a link has been broken in the chain that binds us together. But we remain as a family and it has been amazing how we have come together to heal this broken link.
On Friday, 25-year-old Christopher Krumm barged into a computer science class and shot his father in the head with an arrow. His father taught the computer class. Police say the 56-year-old Krumm fought with his son before he died, giving students time to flee safely. Christopher Krumm died of self-inflicted knife wounds.

Earlier that morning, Krumm killed his father’s girlfriend, 42-year-old Heidi Arnold. She was found stabbed to death outside the home she shared with James Krumm on Hawthorne Avenue. Arnold was a math instructor at the college.
