You can get an idea of what it's like climbing the world's highest peak by attending Mark Jenkins' talk at Laramie County Community College on Tuesday, January 29, at 7 p.m.

Jenkins, a Wyoming native, is an avid climber and writer-in-residence at the University of Wyoming. He climbed Mount Everest last spring as part of a North Face expedition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first American ascent of the mountain.

Due to Winter weather conditions, some roads around the Cheyenne area are closed.

The Wyoming Department of Transportation website shows that Interstate 80 between Cheyenne and Hillsdale has now reopened. They are still reporting conditions as slick with strong winds and blowing snow creating limited visibility.

High winds around our area are not only rearranging our hairdo's, they're closing roads. Dust storms and numerous accidents in Nebraska have closed down Interstate 80 between Cheyenne and the Nebraska border for at least the next 6 hours according to the Wyoming Department of Transportation.
