The annual cattle drive begins in a pasture north of Cheyenne near Horse Creek Rd. and travels south along Hynds Blvd., the I-25 frontage road, to Central Ave. by the Governor's Mansion and finally turns into Frontier Park. Here are the approximate times that the cattle are expected at points along the trail:

  • 7:15-7:45 a.m.-Interstate 25 and Horse Creek Road
  • 8:15 a.m. I-25 frontage road and Riding Club Rd.
  • 8:45 a.m. I-25 and Vandehei Rd.
  • 9-9:15 a.m. I-25 and Central Ave.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol will not allow parking along I-25 at any time during the Cattle Drive. Also, Central Avenue between Kennedy Road and Hynds Boulevard will be closed while the cattle are on Central Avenue.

Spectators are encouraged to watch the free event from vantage points along the route and don't forget to bring your cameras. The annual event ushers in the '119th Daddy of 'em All' which begins with the Cinch Rodeo Shootout on Friday, July 17.

Here's a short video you can share with your friends who don't believe we still have cattle drives in Cheyenne. Let us know what you think about Cheyenne Frontier Days in our poll.
