Cheech Marin has one of the most exquisite collections of Chicano art, and he’s bringing  his collection to Laramie this Friday to be a part of the University of Wyoming’s art exhibit called “Chicano Art:  Cultivating Chicano Future."

ART???  We are talking about Cheech “Up In Smoke” Marin aren’t we?   And that answer would be YES!   Oh sure Cheech is known for "toking” up a lot of laughs with his buddy and partner Tommy Chong, as well as known for acting  in several movies and television series.  But he has another thing to add to his resume, collector of  fine Chicano art.

The public is invited to see Cheech Marin making his appearance at the Wyoming Union Ballroom this Friday afternoon at 4 p.m., to talk about his art collection, which is considered to be one of the best private collections in the world.  This will be followed by a signing and reception.  Then this Saturday at 10:30 a.m., he’ll be guiding art enthusiasts through the exhibit.  The art exhibit will then remain at the University of Wyoming Art Museum through November 23rd.  The museum (which is located at 2111 Willet Drive in Laramie) is open on Mondays from 10a.m. to 9 p.m., and Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cheech's appearance on both Friday and Saturday, as well as museum admission are all free! For more details, call 307-766-6622, or click here.
