Cheyenne Animal Shelter Animals Get New Beds

The Cheyenne Animal Shelter (CAS) recently received 20 Kuranda pet beds from Animal Rescue Aid, which is a non-profit organization that works to help animals.

ARA started the ''Blue Bed Donation Program" in 2010, with the goal of giving quality beds to animal shelters across the country. Animal Rescue Aid founder Tracey French says "The beds are important to the adoption process. When animals are comfortable, their true personalities can shine through to potential adopters!"

Cheyenne Animal Shelter President and CEO Bob Fecht says CAS applied for the grant for the beds this past summer.  He says the receiving the beds is ''great news'' for the shelter, adding it will allow CAS dogs to enjoy a ''more comfortable and safer environment."

On Thursday, Oct. 26, Airmen first class officers Yakim, Llorens and Hun from the 90th SSPTS at F.E. Warren Air Force Base helped to assemble the beds.

Some of the older beds from CAS will now be sent to a Casper shelter which does not have beds.
