Two local breweries are raising a toast for Cheyenne Restaurant Week. Accomplice Beer Company and Freedom's Edge Brewing Company are teaming up to make a special limited-release beer for the occasion.

The Restaurant Week Collaboration is inspired by Altbier, a German brewing process that uses top-fermenting yeast to impart a fruity flavor and a copper color. Derived from the German term for "secret", altbiers are traditionally brewed for special occasions.

The new beer marks the second time Accomplice and Freedom's Edge have worked together. Last year, they joined forces with another local brewery, Danielmark's, to craft the Cheyenne-A-Trois. The seasonal release sold out quickly.

Now in its third year, Cheyenne Restaurant Week will feature fixed-price menus at 29 local businesses, including the three downtown breweries. The event kicks off Sunday, April 1st and runs through Saturday, April 7th.
