The results of the 2014 Proficiency Assessments for Wyoming Students (PAWS) have been made public for the PODER Academy in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

The PODER Academy had students in grades K-4th for the 2013/2014 school year. The 3rd grade class at the PODER Academy tested at 91% proficiency/advanced for math, and 83% proficient/advanced for reading. The 4th grade class tested at 90+% proficient/advanced for math, 72% proficient/advanced in reading, and 72% proficient/advanced in science.

According to district PAWS 2013/2014 averages, PODER Academy had some of the highest levels of proficiency for the entire district.

In a school that has one of the highest levels of free/reduced lunch (approximately 75%), PODER Academy truly feels that that they are closing the achievement gap.

According to Poder Academy CEO Marcos Martinez, the school is "happy about our test results from last year, but this isn’t the end result. He adds the school "won’t be satisfied until we reach 100% proficiency for every student in every subject.”
