The man who has lead the Cheyenne Civic Center for over three decades will be stepping down later this month, according to a release from Mayor Marian Orr.

Dru Rohla's resignation is effective on Aug. 17.

He has headed the Civic Center for 32 years. In announcing the resignation, the mayor thanked Rohla for his many years of service. She also said the search for a new Executive Director is underway, stressing her goal that the facility needs to pay for itself.

"The Civic Center must be self-reliant and should no longer be receiving subsidies from taxpayers," the mayor said in the release announcing Rohla's resignation.
