Need something to kick in that patriotic spirit this Independence Day?

The Cheyenne Civic Concert Band presents their free patriotic concert 'Broad Stripes and Bright Stars' in Lions Park starting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 2.

Might be a fun time to pack up a picnic, your chairs and blankets and the whole family for some affordable outdoor entertainment. The Cheyenne Civic Concert Band will play a wide variety of patriotic favorites including 'America The Beautiful.' This is a great way to kick off your Fourth of July weekend. Follow their FaceBook page for weather updates or any cancellations.

Throughout the summer, free music is provided by the talented local musicians of the Cheyenne Civic Concert Band on the first and third Thursdays of each month in Lions Park until the end of August. This year's band is again under the direction of Sean Ambrose.

Maybe you know some of your neighbors playing in the band. Their website has lots of fun pictures and if you have your own instrument gathering dust at home, you could join the Cheyenne Civic Concert Band.

Their next free concert at the William N. Brimmer Amphitheatre in Lions Park will be Thursday, July 16, at 7 p.m. The theme, 'Under a Wyoming Sky,' will celebrate the Cowboy State.
