Wednesday (July 20) marks one year to the day after a double homicide claimed the lives of a pair of Cheyenne residents and police say the investigation is ongoing.

The July 20, 2015 shooting at The Coin Shop on West Lincolnway left 67-year-old Dwight Brockman and and 76-year-old George Manley dead.

Brockman owned the business while Manley was a frequent customer. The shooting happened just as a Cheyenne Frontier Days pancake breakfast was winding down, and the city was flooded with CFD visitors.

In the days following the killings police released two different suspect sketches. The suspect has been described as being a Hispanic male, standing around 5-feet and 7-inches tall and wearing a dark shirt at the time of the killings, which happened during an apparent armed robbery.

Cheyenne Police Chief Brian Kozak said in January that police had identified ''several suspects" in the case at that point. Police say they have investigated hundreds of tips in the case.

But Kozak said recently delays in getting some of the evidence evaluated has slowed the investigation. He says one problem is that state budget cutbacks have hit the Wyoming state crime lab, forcing investigators to turn to labs in Colorado to do some of the work. But those labs have a backlog as well, causing more delays in forensic evaluation.

A total of $10,000 in reward money is being offered in the case. Kozak has said repeatedly that he and his officers take solving the case personally and are determined to find the killer.

Police spokesman Dan Long says over 3000 man hours have been gone into the investigation so far, and over 230 pieces of evidence have been collected.
