Cheyenne Fire & Rescue is assisting the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation with a suspected meth lab at 5208 Liberty Street Friday afternoon. During the investigation, Liberty Street was closed from Van Buren Avenue to Woodcrest Avenue. Twenty-two  members of Cheyenne Fire and Rescue assisted with the evaluation of the materials found on scene.  The call for assistance was received at approximately 2pm and all Cheyenne Fire and Rescue personnel were released from the scene at approximately 9pm. The neighborhood is safe however; the home was declared a Dangerous Building by Cheyenne Building Safety Department.  It was also labeled by The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation. Cheyenne Fire & Rescue Regional Hazardous Materials Response Team was on scene along with American Medical Response, City County Health, Laramie County Emergency Management, and the Cheyenne Police Department are also assisting with the incident.

City of Cheyenne spokesman Scott Smith says because of the investigation, Liberty Street is closed between Van Buren Avenue and Woodcrest Avenue. Cheyenne Fire & Rescue Regional Hazardous Materials Response Team and the Cheyenne Police Department are also assisting with the incident.
