Cheyenne Firefighters Battle Basement Blaze

Cheyenne firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a fire in a basement in the 600 block of Capitol Avenue Thursday afternoon, according to Cheyenne Fire Rescue spokesman Scott Smith.

Smith says firefighters were called out at 3;36 p.m. and arrived on the scene two minutes later. The fire was contained to the basement area and was under control by 3:43 p.m.

No injuries were reported and there was no estimated damage from the fire, according to Smith. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
