Have you had a chance to see Hog MaGundy play around the area?

The Ft. Collin's based band, Hog MaGundy, has played enough places around the surrounding area including, Taste of Ft. Collin's this weekend and in the KING studio, to qualify as a Cheyenne Home Grown band.

Hog MaGundy got together in 2013 Ft. Collins, we were lucky enough to have them stop by the KING FM studio that summer. Their lead singer and banjo player Garrett Burrow and guitarist Ben Hanrahan are still with the band as well as Devon 'Tree' Lyndsay on the drums. When they played a couple impromptu songs in our 3rd floor studio, he was playing the spoons in our limited space.

The lineup has changed over the years, the current Hog MaGundy includes:

  • Garrett Burrow-banjo, lead singer
  • Ben Hanrahan-guitar and vocals
  • Devon 'Tree' Lyndsay-drums and spoons
  • Jack Kodros-bass
  • Brandon Jay-fiddle
  • Matt Telsey-keyboards

Hog MaGundy calls their unique and contagious sound 'Colorado SlopGrass' and it's kind of traditional picking and instruments with a little Phish and Grateful Dead jam tendencies. They have a large following along the Front Range for a good reason, their shows are always a good time.

The band plays regularly in Ft. Collins and Mishawaka and have gigs scheduled in Boulder at the Lazy Dog on June 26 and in Ft. Collins at Avogadro's Number on July 30. They have also played festivals like Arise in Loveland coming up August 8 and Wakarusa. They've shared the stage with bands like Rusted Root and BeatGrass.

If you're looking for a fun time, check out where Hog MaGundy is playing next and plan to be there for some foot-stomping original bluegrass music. We are proud to adopt Hog MaGundy as part of Cheyenne's Home Grown.
