Cheyenne Regional Medical Center CEO Margo Karsten says the hospital is working on a "patient frIendly" bill that will be easier to read and understand.

When Karsten was chosen to lead CRMC in 2014 she said one of her priorities would be to address widespread complaints about the hospital's billing system. Many CRMC patients felt the bills were hard to read and understand, while others complained about what they claimed were mistakes on their hospital bills.

The hospital has since held a series of public meetings on billing issues. Karsten says Finance Director Brad White has taken those comments along with input from a special advisory committee and examples from hospital bills across the country to devise a more user friendly bill that will clearly outline how much money the patient owes as well as what is covered by insurance and Medicare.

Karsten says the bill is "coming soon" and says patients should find the new bill layout to be a big improvement over the current billing format.
