Cheyenne Juneteenth Day Celebration Saturday

The Fourth Annual Juneteenth Day Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, June 14th at Martin Luther King Jr. Park in Cheyenne.

Juneteenth Day celebrates the freeing of the last slaves in Texas after the Civil War in June of 1865. This year's Cheyenne Celebration will include a three on three basketball competition, food vendors, martial arts demonstrations, dancers and other events.

The celebration is slated to run from 10:am until 6 p.m. It's sponsored by the NAACP of Cheyenne, the Wyoming Buffalo Soldiers Association, and the Cheyenne Family YMCA.
