Cheyenne LEADS CEO Randy Bruns says plans by Magpul Industries to re-locate it's firearms accessories manufacturing operation to Cheyenne are "going very, very well".

Magpul, originally based in Erie, Colorado, decided to relocate it's operations to Cheyenne and Texas after Colorado passed new gun control legislation in 2013. The company's lease at it's Colorado facility expires in April, and Bruns says it looks like the company will be able to being operations in Cheyenne by January 1, 2015.

Magpul will sub-lease the former Jeld-Wen Windows and Doors facility from Cheyenne LEADS, which in turn is leasing it from Laramie County. Magpul is expected to create 200-to 250 jobs locally once it is fully operational.

Bruns says the company has already been hiring some Cheyenne residents, who in some cases are commuting to Colorado to work until the move takes place.
