Do you remember the award-winning movie 'On Golden Pond' starring Henry Fonda and Katherine Hepburn?

The Cheyenne Little Theatre Players are bringing Norman and Ethel Thayer to life on the stage of the Mary Godfrey Playhouse from February 13 to March 1.

'On Golden Pond' opens on February 13 and runs Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30, with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. through March 1. Tickets for the Thursday, February 19, 7:30 p.m. performance are only $10. Other shows are $22 for adults, $18 for seniors 65 and older, $16 for students and $12 for those 12 and under.

The story follows a retired professor and his wife who spend their summers on Golden Pond. Their quiet time is shaken up when their daughter, her fiance and future stepson arrive unexpectedly.

The 1981 film was based on Ernest Thompson's play that opened on Broadway in 1979. Thompson explores the often turbulent relationship between a father and his daughter and the difficulties often faced by couples during the twilight years of a long marriage.

Returning to the Cheyenne Little Theatre stage after a long absence will be Bill White in the role of Norman Thayer, Jr. You might remember Bill as one of the best villains ever at the Atlas Theatre during the Old Fashioned Melodramas. (Good to see you back Bill) Joining White on stage will be Judy Schulz as Ethel Thayer and Caitlin Young as the couple's daughter Chelsea. Click here for the complete cast list.

The play is being directed by Jim Rolf. For a brief preview of the show, take a look at this YouTube video:
