The Cheyenne Police Department continues to investigate an attempted murder that occurred in the 4900 block of King Arthur Way around midnight on September 2nd.

Cheyenne Police Department Spokesman Dan Long says officers responded to the area after receiving a report of a man firing a handgun at a white Honda driving on King Arthur Way. Long says the shooter, identified as 26 year old Michael Norden of Cheyenne, was believed to have had an argument with the passenger of the Honda prior to the shooting. As the individuals in the Honda drove from the area, Norden was reported to have fired a gun at the vehicle.

Long says police stopped a vehicle leaving the area of the shooting and found Norden was a passenger in the vehicle and matched the description of the suspected shooter. Police also found a handgun inside the vehicle. Officers found evidence that the gun was fired at the scene. Norden was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Detention Facility on two counts of Attempted 1st Degree Murder and Possession of Methamphetamine charges.  Long says no one involved in the incident was injured and the case remains under investigation by Cheyenne Police Detectives.
